The Annual Celebration of Snuggles and Money

So people tend to have mixed feelings on Valentines Day. Which is understandable. Its a complicated holiday that involves a complicated emotion.

Sometimes people have dinner, do something kinky, buy each other things. Just basically show each other they care.

Sometimes people fly into rages because "OMG I dun have a boyfriend/girlfriend to luuurrvvee" or "I hate all this affection going oooon!!"

Sometimes people just don't do anything. They go one with their day as usual and the next day buy cheap Valentines chocolates that are on sale.

I do indeed have a boyfriend but its long distance. We talk all the time and on Valentines day we just see it as another opportunity to buy each other gifts, because, well, its fun.

Personally I hate the second reaction to Valentines Day.

Its kind of selfish. I mean jeez if it bothers you so much just don't go outside on February 14th. Stay inside and be your own pity party. Its probably best because you're being a selfish douche because some other people are having a good time with each other.

If you're that upset about Valentines day just stay inside and treat yourself. Order in some delicious greasy food and watch movies or something.

Otherwise just deal with it and go about your day like a lot of people do. Like nothing's different.

Its not your fault you don't have anyone to spend this day with. Its just how the world works sometimes. Sometimes couples aren't even happy together on Valentines day. In fact you're probably better off then someone who gets dumped on Valentines.

A good alternative to V-day is the day after to celebrate St. Skeletor's Day.

So there you go. My view on Valentines. Sometimes people are happy. Sometimes people are douche bags. Either way you should remember that whether you have a significant other or not on Valentines,
